We have been going to this shop for years and the quality of the bed linens stands up to the test of time. The quality and comfort easily compare with those from the best houses in Italy and France.

They have a lovely selection of bed linens, towels, place settings, brushes, house coats and table coverings. It is all high quality. Much of it is manufactured in Portugal but there are... More

My only criticism is that stock seemed low. Be prepared to climb strain to see all the mdse. The fans do not keep up with summer heat, so one is not tempted to linger.

Just like Hermès but at Portuguese prices... Whether you need bedlinen, tableclooth, or more indoor/outdoor accessories, just go there... For exemple a wonderfully embroidered Handkerchiech worth 3 euros, gift package and smile included... ;-)

My husband and I completely stumbled on this remarkable store on a recent trip to Portugal. The linens are top quality and the atmosphere of the store is not to be missed. If this store were in the US, I would be bankrupt.

Two years ago I had a field day in here ... beautiful and a great selection of linens from France and Portugal. This time, there were very few tea towels for example, and no round table cloths at all. Are they going out of business? Hope not. The staff lady was quiet and seemed to not want to talk.

An attractive shop which has high quality produce. It seems to have a mixture of Portuguese and French items. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Always make this a stop when in Lisbon. Beautiful towels, handcloths, dishtowels, soaps and delicate feminine pajama sets! Very helpful staff in an old fashioned store with pretty linens and bedding to entice you . Many of the products are made in Portugal but check the tags! A great shop for a special someone or something for yourself. Very nice... More

My wife bought a superb Cashmere shawl here. This historic shop in the centre of Chiado (on the other side of the street from the Cafe A Brasileira) is a delight to visit. The tax free shopping for non-EU residents will make it a somewhat of a bargain for visitors from outside Europe, but prices still are fairly expensive -... More

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighbourhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
