Took a walking tour around the city, and we were brought hear by the guide, what a beautiful view, looking down over the red roofs of the city, the spires, the river, across the river, all really nice. This is a place you have to visit when you are hear, we were not here for it, but it makes sense... More

It was our favorite place in Lisbon to enjoy the peace and beautiful sights at sunset and even afterwards. A lot of people gather here in the evening so it's very nice and fun.

Nice views from this little miradouro. Unluckily most of the tiles are broken or fallen. I guess this adds history to the place

It has great views across Lisbon looking North, and will offer photographers an excellent opportunity for Landscape photos. However, the roads leading up to it are very steep and narrow, not something i would advise people with children in pushchairs and definitely no good access for those with walking difficulty or wheelchair users. As far as i could see there... More

A series of terraces, each offering a more beautiful view of the Alfama and the river Tejo. Complete with terraces and little food trucks, buskers and a wonderful atmosphere. Best of all: it is reachable by tram 28 and that makes it the most reachable of all of Lisbon's many viewpoints.

This is my favourite miradouro. To be visited very soon in the morning (the tram 28E will be less crouded and you will enjoy the wonderfull light).

This is one of the best view points in Lisbon - a must stop during a tour of the Alfama area. Sip a glass of wine or a cup of coffee and enjoy the great view of the river and neighborhood.

Lovely view from year when it's sunny and also under the rain. Easy to reach with tram 28 or 12. I went by taxi from Placa do Comercio and I paid 5 euros

Staying in Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria

Neighbourhood Profile
Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria
Explore narrow streets and alleyways, small cafes and, of course, the internationally acclaimed Fado music. The earth-shattering Great Earthquake of 1755 destroyed most of the city but the contiguous neighborhoods of Mouraria, Castelo and Alfama remained standing to this day. These neighborhoods represent Lisbon at its historical best. The cool breeze of the Tagus river will take you up the hills to the sound of Fado, where you'll discover the best "tascas," eat delicious fresh fish and drink great wines. Discover hidden viewpoints and ancient traces of other civilizational ruins in the heart of the Portuguese capital. These are centuries-old neighborhoods that will welcome you to the very best of old Lisbon culture.
