Very pretty. Felt followed around a little bit by staff - Also the top floor was cordoned off when we were there. Good value at $3 and a good thing for a rainy day.

This house is exquisite and really gives you a sense of the history, art and culture of Portugal. The building is beautiful and each room and its contents teaches you something about a period in Portuguese history. Definitely was worth it.

I remember the museum used to be free a year ago,now you have to pay 3 euros, but park and chapel are still for free. Worth visiting just to see how people used to live. I love the deco. Museum is based in lovely scenery...you have chickens and peacocks living in the park, even turtles in the pond!!! :) There... More

We stopped there when doing some sightseeing on foot of Cascais, being attracted by the park surrounding the building. Not sure what to expect, we decided to "risk" the 3 euro each and to see what is waiting for us in there. The "museum" is self guided and most signs are Portuguese / English language, giving some insights on how... More

and do not let that put you off. People appreciate something they have to pay for. Loads of paintings with 19th but mainly 20th century significance, and curious decorative art. The archaeological stuff I came to see was not available on this visit, but I still found plenty new stuff to appreciate - you just have to open to new... More

From the outside this place looks like the castle in the Disney logo, but Disney didn't exist when the Irish tobacco magnate Jorge (presumably George) O'Neill had it built on the Portuguese coast. It's deliberately over the top and fairy-tale like, and the inside doesn't offer anything as magical as the exterior. Having said that, it's not bad. The €3... More

Even cheap-ish entrance fee 3€ felt a bit much for this place. The museum was a lot smaller than we expected, especially when parts of the museum were closed for some reason. For the part that was open, there were some nice paintings, tiles and furniture. Staff was taking pictures from each other on a great balcony and I happened... More

If you are in the area, this small museum is definitely worth a visit. An really expensive and luxurious mansion where you can visit different rooms, each of them with its own particularities like the music room, the library, etc. Every detail should be taken into account, event the roof and the ceilings!!
