Nice place for a stop

Liked the garden and waterfalls. Its worth for a coffee stop and to enjoy the scene. Would not drive long way for getting there.

This is a very nice place to walk around with the waterfalls and river running through. There has a cafe and gift shop and plenty of nice places to have a picnic. A lot of reviews refer to this as off the beaten path but there are walkways built alongside the waterfalls and one waterfalls falls into a man made... More

After seeing photos of the waterfalls, I searched for this place and it was almost by chance that we found it. Not marked on the main tourist maps, for some reason, you have to look for the town of Achada and then watch for the signs to Ribeira dos Caldeiroes. Then there is is, right by the highway, with parking... More

Do not get me wrong. The place is very nice...located in a narrow valley the landscape is very beautiful with some waterfalls in it. But you can see everything is built for the people to enjoy, so it looses the sense of wilderness and looks more like a theme park.

This one is a bit off of the beaten track. It is very easy to find and worth the drive. There are trails that are not on the park map through the fence at the old mill.

We rented the house there for four days, so It was magic to stay there during full moon, peaceful place. In the morning the waterfalls wake you up ( also you can here turists walking around 10 o'clock) but they don't see or hear you when you are at house) It's unforgettable to walk at night at park, and to... A lot to do and see here. There are walks above the water and also down by the side. You can do a round trip that does not take long either going above and down the steps and back on the bed of the stream or the other way. Several pools, waterfalls and streams to see as well as a high... More

Waterfalls, walking trails, opportunities for canyoning, hiking, historic mills, exotic flora - this area has plenty to offer. There is also a snack bar, souvenir shop, good washrooms. Plenty of places to picnic or just sit and enjoy the views. Onsite parking and no admission fee.
