Go there if the weather is nice and the sky is clear. You can park right on the top so it's quite easy to get there. The view is amazing!

We went up at 1100 on a perfect cloudless sunny and still day but even do the visibility was so poor because of the haze that we could barely see the coast. This happens of course but you can spend a lot of time driving...More

The Serra da Monchique mountain range is visible from most parts of the central Algarve, so if you can see that there's no cloud sitting on the top, that's the time to take the trip. The views are pretty good, both to the south coast,...More

Impressive! Actually, the viewpoint not far from the very top of the mountain is also cool, since there is fresh spring water available!

Enjoyed the views, took a few snaps. Had an ice cream from the shop. A cow had escaped and joined in enjoying the views!

Well worth the zig-zag climb out of Monchique, there is a small restaurant at the top and a couple of gift shops, but people come here for the extensive view right out to the western coast and away to the east to Faro...refreshingly cool on...More
