Easy Access Right in Town

Nice spot very near to everything in Lagos. Next to the beach and a short walk from the historic area and marina. Good place for a short stop.

Built between 1680 and 1690, this fort defended access to the pier and the southeast and rising flanks of the city wall, crossing fire with the bulwark of the Gate of the Village and with the bastion of the Castle of the Governors. Conceived in time as one of the most technically advanced fortresses in the Algarve, the quadrangular plant,... More

Nice views of the beaches but very little info on the history of the Forte which would have been nice. Instead there was only strange metal artwork inside. Would have been disappointed if we spent any more than our €2 entry each.

When walking within the City Centre this Forte is located along the water way as you leave the local vendors, it is located very close to many of the vendors selling water experiences as well.

There is a very steep ramp inside the courtyard to get up to the top and it could be... More

As we had this included in the pass we visited here but apart from the sculptures there is very little to see. Would only take 30 minutes at the most to see it all and that includes time to take photos. Great views though from the top, across the marina and beyond.

We visited Lagos for the day and the old town area and Fort are stunning. There is some much to see and the old area overs everything from sight seeing to food and shopping. The old fort and the first slave market of Europe are full of history both for the young and old. Lagos is a must see and... More

Well worth a stroll around. Not extensive but interesting. There are various sculptures on the roof area and a great view from here. Peaceful when we were here
