Interesting wander

Wandering around the Old Town with its cobbled streets and pavement cafes is a step back in time. Don't forget to look for the stork on top of the bell tower.

Worth a visit for the bars, restaurants and cathedral. Old cobbled streets and orange groves with views across the Faro marsh and nature reserve.

The Old Town is a mixture of small winding streets opening into large open squares enclosed within the town walls. There are four gates in the wall to allow access to the town which is very quaint. The Cathedral Is situated in the centre with its bell tower complete with stork. A very interesting place to explore.

Went to Faro old town and while there are a few little sights to see such as the old quarters church and lovely courtyard with orange trees it's very small and would probably bore kids to death. There is a little tourist train and some lovely little shops and cafes and you can walk along the sea front

Some quaint narrow streets but the overwhelming noise of bars detracted from this Hasseled every minute to use restaurants and bars was frustrating as were street sellers

Rather a nice walk in the old town. Cobbled streets so choose footwear wisely. Cathedral is interesting - very heavily baroque inside - with great views from the tower. Look up and you will see huge nests with cranes- amazing. Some nice little cafes & restaurants in this area. Small area but well worth the walk.

Loved the cleanliness and the relative peace and quiet of the Faro Old Town everything was reachable after parking the car inside the walls. Enjoyed some good food and cake and coffees in the plenty restaurants and cafes. Ideal for just chilling and enjoying the views over Ria Formosa and a nice location to watch the sun go down.
