An intereseting church

It was interesting to learn of the history of this church and how and when it came to be built under the circumstances at the time.

The Misericórdia Chapel is a former Arab mosque, located at the Rua Henrique Calado, near the Archeological Museum. Its a very pleasant place to visit. They sell some handmade stuff for the good cause. The photo is not correct.

Very typical of the local area and architecture sits this charming church, always admire these, because it looks very different to the churches at home. Unfortunately couldn't get a look inside, because it was closed most times I went past.

Lovely views from the outside. My wife and I ventured in during mass on Saturday evening. The decor inside was not as elaborate or ornate as I expected but a great piece of architecture nonetheless.

Viewing this chapel from the outside I found it pretty. It is good for taking pictures. It is close to the city centre.
