Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

... you avoid the worst period July/August
Also it has a small beach restaurant with stunning views.
But this is exceptional: on the terrace the prices are surprisingly acceptable for such a location: 9.50€ for a fresh grilled fish (large and grilled to perfection) is a real pleasure

Castelo beach is small, clean, attractive, with decent sun beds, and the sea is lovely. The car park, just above the beach, gets full quickly in season - but you can park alongside the approach road. The sand is very clean - perfect for littlies. Pic Nic the beach cafe, is good if simple - what you see is what you get - from simple fresh fish to salads - and the drinks are OK. You need to book ahead in season.

Great beach not overly commercial. 1 bar/restaurant "Pic Nic" great lunch and dinner options. Philippa runs the massage business on the beach and provides an excellent service, very relaxing with the sound of the waves and birds in the background. The beach has fairly coarse sand, not unpleasantly so and there are plenty of loungers or space for your own towel depending on your choice. There is parking and about 50 steps to get down to the beach (36 to the restaurant level)

Beautiful rocky coastline with cliffside walks and beautiful views. Nice beach that is never too crowded.

We went to this beach as part of the pirate boat tour from Albufeira marina and it was very quiet and relaxed despite the number of people there. Everyone had their spot and were doing their own thing which was mainly relaxing
We were told to be careful of possible falling rocks from the cliffs, but thankfully we didn't experience any!
Lots of shells on the beach close to the water so a little complicated for walking barefoot, but the water - and beach in general - is very clean.

Really very delicious fish. Very nice and silence beach, with sunbeds and umbrella for 15€ per day. The snackbar opens at 10 a.m. and offers all you need. Very good and delicous are the various of grilled fish with rice, potatoes, french fries or with salad

It took about 10 minutes to drive here from central Albufeira. nd it is worth it. The beaches are less crowded, and less rowdy, and with more beautiful surroundings. It was easy tp park (and no fees) and we spent half the day east of Castell beach, hiking down some narrow paths to an undeveloped beach with few people and great rock formations. We then hiked back and had lunch at PicNic. I see some reviews recommending against this. We had a terrific experience. Friendly service and a good food and lovely setting. I had the sole, and it was delicious, and my wife had (what turned out to be a very generous portion of) melon and prosciutto. The beach next to the restaurant is nice with lots of room

This is a favourite beach of ours to walk to along the beautiful coastal path from Galé.
Parking availalbe, but can get busy. Lots of steps to walk down from car park. O Pic Nic restaurant on site which is good, though in the shade.
The beach and surroundings are beautiful. Lovely clear water to swim in, although the waves can get rough at times.
Chairs and umbrellas to rent with life guard on duty.

We stopped at this beach and decided just to have drinks as we had just eaten, the drinks were good we had pina colada’s and the children had soft drinks, staff very friendly. We did not eat here but from what we could see the food was ok. Would recommend as a place to stop for drinks.
