It's a metal ring set into the pavement and a statue of a bull. Famous enough to appear on bus timetables! If you're having a walk around Brading then have a look at it, but don't expect it to take more than 5 minutes!

If you are interested in local history the Bull Ring is worth a 15 minute wander. The carving of the bull itself is large and impressive (although the town needs to be aware of the need for some restoration / preservation work fairly soon). Nearby is the historic ring where they tied these unfortunate creatures in order to indulge their... More

Came across this on a recent walk through Brading. As the title of my review says, the Bull Ring is a statue, not really a lot else to say about it.

Nothing wrong with this. It is free, a large statue of a Bull a reminder of the days of bull baiting sadly. Nothing else to say really. Look for it as you pass through Brading

To tell the truth there isn't very much here. In the centre of Brading is the metal ring where a bull was tethered before dogs were set on it. There is a carving of a large bull but apart from the Ryde bus stop there isn't anything else. As Brading has a speed limit of 20mph you can almost see... More

Well it's a big lump of iron in the ground that they tied a bull to, to be bait by bull dogs to tenderise the meat before the animal was lead down West St to the slaughter house. I found all this out by talking to the guy in the tea rooms further up the road on our way to... More

The Bull Ring is both the name of a crossroads in the centre of this very small town and also an iron ring embedded in the pavement in front of the new town hall to which a bull was tethered on public holidays. The main entertainment of the day was watching bulldogs and mastiffs torment the bull before it was... More
