This Gothic-Romanesque was almost completely destroyed in the First World War only its vaults survived..

I can not pass a church that has open doors without wanting to go in.It is close to the ramparts and inside is impressive. We lit a candle for those we have loved and lost.

The Romanesque church was built in the 1200's. It was rebuilt as a Gothic structure in the mid 1600's. The church was almost destroyed during WWI. Only it's walls were left standing. The noted reconstruction architect Jules Cooman was charged with designing the new church.
