The Belfry of Cloth Hall gives you a panoramic view from high up of the area of Ypres Salient and the battlefields. €2 in addition to your €9 entrance fee(museum) gives you the opportunity to take some fantastic photographs of the Ypres area

The museum of the Flanders Field a great attraction and for a small sum add the climb to the Belfry around 200 plus steps but really worth it especially if you make sure you climb when a bell chime is due. It is noisy but...More

Im not sure the $12 euros was worth it. The climb wasn't to bad. A little narrow in places but when people are coming down and your trying to go up with no passing room it can be a pain. The view was pretty good...More

Maybe not for the infirm as the steps were quite narrow and winding but it certainly got the blood pumping. The view at the top is worth the climb!

Accessed from inside the Museum. It's 230 steps to the top, mostly enclosed stone spiral stairs. If you don't like 'open' stairs beware as the last part of the climb is open-backed steps instead. The view is well worth the climb

On a very hot summers day the thought of climbing 231 narrow winding steps to see the bells & view from rooftop seemed ridiculous BUT so glad we did it - an experience not to be missed if you can manage it

The hike up was quite the climb as there were a lot of steps. I prepared for that. However, I didn’t realize how steep and narrow the steps were and that people would come down as I was coming up (and vice verse) so if...More

You'll need good shoes and good legs to get up the bell tower, but once you are there, the views are spectacular. It's worth being inside the belfry, under the bells when they toll.

My wife and I both in our 70's but extremely fit managed the steps easily and even passed some rather plump youngsters who had to stop to rest. Ah our generation is made of stern stuff!!!!!!Great views are normally seen from the top but unfortunately...More
