We didn't know that our walk from the Menin Gate Memorial to the Remparts Cemetery would take so long. Only afterwards did we realize that the sign indicated that it was 1100 meters further. We still had fun though! We saw some interesting views during our walk: a lovely church, which we visited afterwards, something that looked like a hobbit... More

A small but picturesque cemetery overlooking the moat and the countryside beyond the town walls.A lovely spot to contemplate and let the world go by.Located next to the lille gate, and from there you walk the ramparts to the menin gate

Just popped in to this cemetery and it is in a lovely location next to the river. It is a small cemetery and worth a visit if you are passing, but is lower down the list in comparison to Bedford House or Tyne Cot.

There is nothing more pleasing to a family of a victim of war to see their loved ones grave ten bed with so much respect. Again an easy location in Ypres to find, it is a place to go.

Superb commemoration and cemetery for those lost in the war. Deeply moving and peaceful place. One could spend hours here reading the names on the headstones. Very sad

A must see if you're visiting Ypres for the Menin Gate, but don't have the time to get to Tyne Cot. Gives an excellent insight into the typical style/layout of British & Commonwealth War Graves.

It seems a little odd to describe a cemetery as Very Good. Presumably if one finds themselves at the Menin Gate one expects a certain type of experience, so in addition to the Menin Gate, this is well worth the 1km walk along the ramparts. Its only small, but wonderfully preserved and in a fantastic location on the edge of... More

Visited this place whilst still in secondary school, I didn't realise how moving it was until many years later. I would love to visit again now I am older.

This little cemetery is is a beautiful location in a park overlooking the moat. Containing the remains of men from as far away as New Zealand. It is interesting to link the dates with major actions.

All the cemeteries around Ypres are tragic reminders of the monumental loss of young lives in hideous wars. The Belgium government and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission maintain and improve the cemeteries and the facilities with great care and are to be applauded.
