No tourist office in evidence, the railway station being rebuilt, no direction for anything useful. If you want a beach, it has it. It has some superb restaurants. Nothing else.

Fairly good seaside town with shops and cafes. Some fish stalls selling seafood, which we don't see so much in seaside towns in the UK. Nice harbour. And of course the plage.

We always used to start in Ostende when we could get a ferry from England straight to there. As that has stopped we always head from Dover to Ostende for a few days first. So beautiful in the summer and peaceful in the winter. Amazing...More

Went on a weekday a lot was shut up. We had 2 hours here and struggled to find anything to do. The place looked really run down and dirty. We ended up wasting 1hr in McDonald’s!!! Not worth going back too unless they do it...More

Totally overbuilt, few bits of historical construction left, dunes replaced by wall of waterfront condos. OK to walk along waterfront for a day but I'd pick Holland or France if I were planning more than a couple of days along the North Sea shore. Fine...More
