The Diamond museum sheds a fascinating light on Bruges' gem connection....

The Diamond museum sheds a fascinating light on Bruges' gem connection. Diamonds were traded and polished here as far back as the 14th century. The museum shows how medieval Bruges was the first diamond city in the world, and why the industry later moved to Antwerp. The museum features permanent and temporary exhibitions, a shop dedicated to all things diamond-related, and offers its unique Diamond Polishing Show every day.

We visited the Diamond Museum Brugge for our Christmas Treat. We had a lot of fun looking at all the cutting tools at the demonstrations. The explanations are very clear and offered new information even for us as professionals. The display of the history of mining and cutting is lively and shows the hard work and difficult conditions of the... More

I have to admit the Diamond Museum was not on my list of things to see in Bruges. But the weather was cold and wet so the opportunity to spend a few hours in a warm, dry place was enticing. What a lucky find! It was probably the best laid-out museum I visited that week - an engaging, informative demonstration... More

A lot of variation in the exhibition, and different kind of angels (History, technic of cutting, jewelrydesign,...) The demonstration is very nice! Interesting for people who know already some suff about diamonds and also interesting for people without a background in jewellery en gemstones.

Spent a fascinating couple of hours here. Good explanations of the history of diamonds and their place in the history of Bruges. Great displays of old technology and instruments. The cutting and polishing demonstration was well worth the extra couple of euros.

A museum full of diamonds and jewellery which were stunning and most informative. The diamond cutting and polishing demonstration whilst extra to the entrance fee was very interesting and well worth the extra.

We visited the museum mainly because I wanted to see some diamonds! We found it to be quite expensive for entry and to see diamond cutting was even more. We found the museum on the whole a bit confusing with its layout and were quite bored. There was only one area that really held any interest and that was the... More

The diamond museum covers many aspects of the diamond business, with sections about the winning of raw diamond in various places, about the processing to jewels, about the history in Bruges, Antwerp, Amsterdam, with various special diamonds on display. A funny special item is a Ukrainian diamond processing robot. There are a few explanations in videos, but most information is... More

The displays are limited and boring. Very little to see. The one highlight was the box of fake diamonds to represent all the diamonds mined per year. Just very little to see. We spent 10 euro each to enter (including the polishing show) but we struggled to make it last more than 10 min. Unfortunately not for us and we... More
