The 115 metres high brick tower of the Church of Our Lady is a perfect illustration of the craftsmanship of Bruges' artisans. The church displays a valuable art collection: Michelangelo's world-famous Madonna and Child, countless paintings, 13th-century painted sepulchres and the tombs of Mary of Burgundy and Charles the Bold.

I visited this church specifically to see the Madonna and Child as it has such an interesting history. I didn't really explore much else of the church although after reading several reviews I see that there are other things worth taking a look at.

Saw a Madonna and Child by Michelangelo. Quite a find in this quaint city. Just happened to find it while walking around town. We saw a large, beautiful church and decided to go in and found this amazing masterpiece.

This was a follow-up visit to this fantastic building to see how the renovation work was proceeding and, naturally, to see and pay respect to the wonderful Madonna and Child. We were very impressed on our last visit to see the amount of restoration work....More

The empty tombs and the Michaelangelo statue are the primary draws at this Bruges church. Much of the inside is undergoing some renovation, but still pretty as far as medieval churches go. This one is a monument to the rich families of Bruges' past, including...More

Lovely to walk round the old city and the maze of canals. Amazing architecture of the magnificent buildings within the old city. Church containing the "Madonna and Child" worth a visit. Entrance about 3 Euro's.
