The most important of Bruges' towers stands 83 metres tall. It houses, amongst other things, a carillon with 47 melodious bells. In the reception area, waiting visitors can discover all kinds of interesting information about the history and working of this unique world-heritage protected belfry. Those who take on the challenge of climbing the tower can pause for a breather on the way up in the old treasury, where the city's charters, seal and public funds were kept during the Middle Ages, and also at the level of the impressive clock or in the carillonneur's chamber. Finally, after a tiring 366 steps, your efforts will be rewarded with a breath-taking and unforgettable panoramic view of Bruges and her surroundings.

We had to wait almost 1 hour to get up there but it is worth it as the view is amazing. You also have to be prepared to climb the stairs!

366 steps to the top, but well worth it for the views. Can get very busy and then your asent/descent may take longer as staircase does get very narrow and takes time for people to pass.

The Belfort is a must-go in Bruges and luckily is included in the museum-card. It provides a 360-view of the city, as it is located at the Markt in the middle of the city-centre. Apart from the fact you'll be awarded with a beautiful view...More

With its 83m it towers over the open market square in Bruges. Take the 366 narrow steps to climb up and see the huge bell and the 47 bell manually operated carillon. You can hear it chiming while up and admiring the charming city and...More

Decided it was now or never to climb all these steps ! No idea why it was so quiet, no queue at all. The view was still incredible despite the rain. We were able to climb slowly up & down. People were polite letting others...More

This attraction is not so busy but the tower has only one reason why here is very long line. The tower has only one stair for two way up-down and is very narrow. So if the visitor staying upstairs go down then the next visitor...More

A superb view over the city when the sun is shining! Lots of steps to climb but worth it when you get to the top.

The Belfort is one of the iconic sights in Brugge and a must visit. Situated off the The Markt, entry into the tower is a fairly steep 10 euro's (pardon the pun!). The tower is explored by quite a number of steps, interspersed with rooms...More

For an adult it is around €10. If you are under the age of 26/25 you can get in for €8.00 but you must show your driving licence for proof of age. I hope this helps! the steep climb is worth the panoramic view :)!

No problem - as others have said its a bit narrower at the top but people wait to let each other go. I am probably a size 18 converted to bloke terms and I did not find it any problem. Do it - its worth it. Have fun.,
