Love love loved this church. The architecture is beautifully designed. You have the romanesque and the gothic style. They have a 5 minute ceremony in many different languages about the vial of Jesus's blood which you can walk up on the alter alone and pay...More

A Roman Catholic minor basilica with a sample of the blood of Jesus Christ. The basilica is pretty small but richly decorated. It's on the second floor of the building. No entrance fee to see the sample but to enter the treasury.

In the Burg Square, look for the corner building with the gold knights. The history of the church is fascinating and well worth a visit. Be sure to visit both the upper and lower story. You have to enter each level separately from outside.

We enjoyed the trip to this historical site and the surrounding activities. My kids also found it worth the visit.

First off, it's advertised as being in the museum when in fact it's in the church. Don't get sucked into paying an entrance fee for the museum when you can see it at the church. It almost didn't look real. The ambiance of the place...More

We got very lucky and were visiting Bruges at a time when the Holy Blood was on display. The display was very tasteful and well done. Like about every aspect of every religion one needs the faith to believe. Thanks for reading. If you’ve found...More

I was expecting a holy site, but instead found a tourist trap. There were recorded announcements playing in both chapels. It totally ruined the atmosphere. But, what can you expect of a place decorated with depictions of the crusades? As a person of faith, I...More

The one thing you can always count on when you visit a Medieval city is the creepy religious relic. In Bruges it is found in the Basilica of the Holy Blood. And with a name like that, you know that it’s gotta be good and...More

The church has historical significance and is worth a short visit to see the interior and, if religious, to see the relic on display. Donations are encouraged (and perhaps expected, so have a few coins available if you want to see the relic).

No. There was no fee. You can make a donation but there is no compulsion. The church is beautiful. Enjoy.
