The place to be and to be seen with lots of bars and restaurants but everywhere is two or three times the price you'd expect to pay in Brussels or Antwerp. Nice view of canal and plenty of people watching

I walked all along both sides, exploring lots of little shops, talking with people and had a nice break in a pier side cafe. Also greatly enjoyed the boat cruise.

A stroll along the banks on either side of the river at this point is what everyone comes to Ghent to do. There are loads of step-fronted buildings that line both banks. Charming.

This is a lovely area to walk along with lots of activity on the canal such as boat rides etc. Lots of restaurants on the Graslei side & across the bridge is the Marriot Hotel.

For 7 euros (or free with the Ghent tourist card) you will get nearly an hour's boat trip with a well-informed guide and learn much about the history of Ghent.

i enjoyed walking in these areas due to the views of the River, its history, beautiful buildings, and restaurants. View them also during your boat ride as the boat captain talks about the history of these attractions and shared some funny stories.

Ghent is a classical European city, with the added benefit of the gorgeous canals. It is such a clean historical area. We visited on a Sunday and there were orchestra performances in two of the major historical squares. The canals are very clean, decorated with...More

Wander around. Take a boat trip. This is a wonderful place to see and a boat trip tips it all. Well worth a visit.

You can get a train to Gent and it's a 40 mins walk form the train station or you can get a tram and it will take only 10mins.

Graslei and Koreniei are the two embankments that face each other across Ghent's medieval harbor. There are guild houses on the Graslei side that hold historic significance to the city...and are quite picturesque. This... More
