Not directly in the city centre this abbey and the church besides is maybe not an obvious choice when you visit Gent. But this place is so worth to visit! The Saint Peters abbey is the earliest abbey in Gent and has a very long...More

We took the video guided tour of the abbey called Alison, The Secret of the fallen angel. The duration was approximately 90 minutes. The virtual guide on duty is a certain monk with Scottish roots (yes, really!) who lived in the 18th century. The guide...More

Beautiful church with a lovely garden with fruit trees. Wonderful place for a picknick on a sunny day. Adjacent to Wereld van Kina museum, 3 minute walk from Kinepolis cinema, 5 min walk from SMAK Museum and fine arts museum in Citadel Park.

Located in the center of a busy town, it's an unlikely place to find so much green. Make sure you take a walk in the medicinal garden and the vineyard.

One of the most famous places in Gent which you must visit when you are in the city of Gent. Lovely old atmosphere with a lovely walking area and some green places.

Behind the church there is a beautiful little garden with a vineyard. For budget travelers like myself it's a perfect alternative to take it easy, relax and have a picnic instead of going out to a restaurant. It's also a perfect place for a day...More

We took the Alison tour -an audio visual which takes you into very interesting and usually inaccessible places. I would thoroughly recommend it -but leave plenty of time as it takes nearly 1.5 hours plus time in the church.
