Nice alternative for Han

I visited this place one day after visiting the more famous caves of Han-sur-Lesse. Comparing the two, I think Han is definitely more impressive and much larger overall. But... read more

This place surprises me with its rich history. It is difficult to imagine how big it is from the outside of the cave. For me it was like perfect film set. Report Card: Time Required to visit: 1 hour ,Tour Guide: Visit with guide is mandatory. It costs around 9Euros per person. Also you have to wait for the available... More

I visited this place one day after visiting the more famous caves of Han-sur-Lesse. Comparing the two, I think Han is definitely more impressive and much larger overall. But essentially the same phenomena can be seen in La Merveilleuse. For saving some money, or a journey, or to see a second cave, La Merveilleuse is a good option.

Well, where to start? The caves are quite spectacular: they really have some very intersting features and history. They are easily accessible with comfortable stairs, a steady temperature of 12 degress Celsius, and large open spaces (with a slight lack of a sense of adventure as a consequence). The tour takes about 50 minutes and costs €9,00 per person. The... More

I made a reservation for a large group (26 persons) 2 months prior to visiting Dinant. When I tried to contact the organisation a couple of days before visiting, once again confirming the reservation, there was no response at all. I e-mailed several times, called about 10 times. We had to find a new activity only hours before we'd scheduled... More

My first cave visit. Nice gentleman who greeted us and made wonderful cup of coffee in sub zero temp. Temp inside caves are very comfortable - 12 degrees. Can not carry pram inside, so you can keep it where you buy your tickets from. Knowledgeable guide who spoke in 3 different languages including English! Fascinating limestone stalactites, stalagmites, columns, waterfall... More

After spending almost the whole afternoon in the Citadel and walking around downtown, we decided to go and find the caves. It was getting warmer while we kept going uphill, but we finally found it. We had a group of about 12 people with different nationalities and the tour guide actually spoke 3 different languages and it was very clear.... More

Coming from South Africa where we have the Cango caves, I am often disappointed by some peoples description of a cave, but not these ones. After a nice stroll from the city center and up the Hill, I got to the entrance of Grotte La Merveilleuse, and that is what they are marvelous and quite spectacular with examples of both... More

The caves are a true treasure trove of stalactites. This is so serene and beautiful that I wonder why the Belgium Tourism doesn't market them. This is managed by a local person than having a full time tourism office. What a waste opportunity. Anyway the caves themselves are pretty. The tour takes just about an hour, but you can stay...
