While they were building the station, I was rather doubtful. Later, I enjoyed the opening festivities (some years ago) and ended up getting used to Calatrava's architecture. On the more practical side, the station is very handy, especially the kiss and ride section and the exhibition centre featured several very interesting events so far!

nice glass and expensive artistic coverage of the Liège station but no good for travellers waiting for their train with wind and rain sweeping under the glass ceiling

The station was inaugurated in 2009 and the famous architect called Santiago Calatrava Valls (rings a bell?science city of Valencia was made by him ...) has done a outstanding job and really gave Liège's inhabitants back their pride

You actually need to step off the train to appreciate this grand architectural masterpiece. It is not large but nevertheless imposing in its futuristic style. Santiago Calatrava gave the city a new landmark, one which is being integrated little by little in the new cityscape. I love it!

This is a new and very beautiful structure. I stayed in a hotel just across the street. There are lots of shops and, during my visit, an exhibit on the Chinese Terra Cotta Warriors...yes, in Liege, Belgium. In addition to being functional, the structure is also a photographers dream.

If you love to admire the work of architects you could be flabbergasted by the design of this building. The railway station is a famous work of art for Belgian norms but may not be so impressive by frequent travelers.
