Dominating the Sablon Square in the center of Brussels, this church was transformed from a chapel into a major gothic church starting in 1436 through the beginning of the 16th century, and truly exemplifies the Brabantine gothic style of architecture.

We wondered up here by mistake and found the architecture astonishing. It's well maintained and a delight there's a few little shops near the area and during December Xmas markets just near it.

Another place that is a must for anyone interested in classic architecture. It is well looked after so a great place to take photos.

We stayed in a hotel near Sablon and visiting this church wasn not really part of our plans, but we were happy we did.

Notre Dame du Sablon (free entry) is a 15th-century Catholic church located at Place du Grand Sablon that makes for a nice place to visit if you are planning to spend time in this area of Brussels. The church is a fine example of Brabatine...More

Always in awe of the architecture of these great buildings. Over the top detail and opulence for such an old structure. Wow. More ornate than the other Notre-Dame down the Hill but visit them both.

It is difficult not to like dignified old churches such as Notre Dame. It exudes so much character with the architectural details.

Went to antique market that is held here on Saturdays, but mainly silver, china and jewelry so decided to go into the chuch. Great stained glass and an ornate pulpit and organ.

This church is definitely worth a visit as it has gorgeous stained glass windows and also a beautifully carved wooden pulpit (see the pictures I have attached).

Stunning gothic vitraux and a lovely ambience. Frequently associated with musicians playing organ and singing. A lovely location just to sit and marvel at the beauty of this building or listen to the relatively new organ (2011-13) when it is played.

The most striking cathedral I have seen. The gothic architecture it incredible, especially the monocromed alters. The cathedral is well located near a beautiful park and local cafes you can admire the architecture from. A must see for Brussels tourists.
