Fabulous Architecture

These fifteenth century buildings are beautiful, and it is no wonder people just stand and start for long periods of time.

Wonderfully renovated and nearly perfectly preserved, the guild houses around the Brussels Grand Place are a must-see attraction for anyone visiting the city. Conveniently located around the Grand Place in the touristic center of the city, it is impossible to pass by without noticing them. In the evening, the Guild Houses and the Town Hall itself are beautifully lit by... More

If you've visited cities like Copenhagen or Amsterdam you already know this style of house-architecture. As part of the Grand Place in the very centrum of Brussels these houses are also lighten up in the night, which is very beautiful.

There are the golden Tree House, also called "Maison des Brasseurs," and the Rose; It was the headquarters of the tanners, guild in the 15th century. There is a golden figures, a Brussels hero, who defended the rights; this sculpture brings good luck ! According to tradition, by rubbing different parts of the sculpture, makes one's wish come true.

Over the Grand Place we see the guild house in a row among a square of typical Belgian style buildings, it's utterly spectacular! Really lovely!

The Guild Houses were the economic center of the past in Brussels. A few of those houses are yet to be seen in the square.Still very well maintained. Its a picture book site,Lovely for photos. This area is considered as a UNESCO Heritage site. Well worth a visit.

The buildings are as beautiful at night as they are during the day simply picturesque! The gold painted trimming and features around them make it a really nice touch and very distinctive especially while shining at night They are located in one of europes most beautiful sqaures and provide an excellent atmosphere a must see

The Grand Place, the centre of Brussels, must surely be one of the most beautiful squares in Europe. It is little wonder that it is a UNESCO world heritage site The current guild houses were built by wealthy merchants and many of them also built houses around the square. The buildings are quite stunning and they glitter in the sunlight.... More

Again the same place as the town hall and the grand palace, all in the same square. Very beautiful architecture but can't really go inside any of them so a pretty quick trip. Recommend visiting at day and again at night for different views.

Each building has its own story but it is clear that each represent a different guild. It's interesting to recognize it and learn more about it.
