Lovely retreat from bustling Brussels. Former Cistercian abbey that has a colourful and chequered history. There's info pamphlets available for a few cents. We managed to gain access to the cloister area courtesy of the local chaplain. The surrounding formal gardens are a treat. Highly recommend a visit.

I only read of the Abbey's existence by chance in a guide book, it doesn't seem to be overly publicised as a tourist destination which is probably a good thing. One of the top spots in Brussels to have a stroll and enjoy the good weather. The park is beautiful as well as its surroundings . You can visit the interior of the Abbaye as well which in my opinion achieves the perfect balance between elegance and modesty. Not so far from Flagey. So you can walk from the Abbaye... More

This place is clearly one of my three favourite spots in Brussels. Beautiful, cared for and quiet gardens in the middle of a busy area, easy access and never crowded.

Always attracts a cool, chilled crowd. Little nooks and crannies to explore. Great place for strolling and also for exercising.

Beautiful peaceful place in a busy surrounding, old monastery buildings, nicely kept gardens. Some people use it for exercise (run up and down the many stairs, make yoga on the grass), others to enjoy lunch ...

This place is used to be monastery in the past but nowadays it is not used anymore. There is nothing interesting about the building but the park around it is very green and great. Most of local went here for picnic during the weekend.
