This is not a museum in the traditional sense: the museum itself is actually the house that Victor Horta built for himself in the late 1890s, which truly exemplifies the Art Nouveau style that made Horta into one of the most acclaimed architects in Belgium.

Check the hours before you set off, they close for lunch. A beautiful interior awaits you, my only problem was that NO PHOTOS are allowed. Only so many views on the postcards, cannot capture the entire experience of the home. All the furnishings were new to the time, custom made for this residence with designs by Horta himself. It is... The house is an art nouveau dream. It was a bit crowded when we visited but it is still a beautiful memory. It's a pity that taking photos is forbidden because the postcards of the house are not the best. (By the way, I was really happy when I recognized the house in the Danish Girl movie.)

What a house! This is the place to take in the design ideas of an original: Victor Horta. Every decorative detail of the home can be viewed in relaxed comfort.

Great art nouveau place. If you like art, this is a very special place to visit. You will also receive a map with other art nouveau buildings near by.

Off the beaten track as we were staying the other side of Brussels ,but we navigated our way with a bit of help. Unfortunately the station for the area was not the nearest to the museum. Really enjoyed the visit despite the long walk to get there.

My husband and I went to the Horta Museum today and we had a good time there. Their opening hours are from 2:00pm to 05:30pm, from Tuesday to Sunday. The adult entrance fee is 10euros. There are lockers at the entrance where you can leave your purses, bags and coats (you will need only a coin of 1euro that you... More

The absolute masterpiece of Art Nouveau, it was at the same time the workshop and the achievement of the art path of Horta and it's own house where he was living, all on 7th half floors. It is still an inspiration for designers and art directors. When I visit it it was the beginning of a new era as the... More

I loved this Art Nouveau house converted into a museum with the old installation (old radiators, bathroom, furniture etc).

Nice museum, a good way to have a better idea about the style and also a nice end of the tour of all the house made by Horta that are all around that area in St Gilles- Ixelles. Unfortunately the museum has some strange open hours and I really suggest you to give a call to be sure is open... More

This is a mildly interesting house - the birthplace of Art Nouveau. The visit was marred however by the officious unfriendly staff at the door. Totally off putting. No sense of grace and we are glad you have come to see us - rather a supercilious attitude that only they (notably a collection of men) had any taste or any... More
