Others have marked this museum down for not having the "iconic" Magrittes featuring bowler hats and apples - you know the stuff. If that's what you want then this might be worth avoiding, although if you're on the Brussels Card or the Museums' own combined...More

Nice clean museum with friendly staff. Nice to read the history of René Margritte his life. Not wow wow, because there are many famous paintings missing. Time to visit for us was 1 hour.

Note: Brussels maps are not too good at locating this museum. But do make the effort to find it especially if you are a Magritte fan. A great overview and close look at his life, influences and art.

The museum is OK, but Magritte's best oeuvres are not here... so if you are not an unconditional fan of Magritte's, choose another museum.

The life and work of Magritte is told through paintings, drawings, sculpture, photos and extensive wall panels. Like a 3D catalogue raisonne, the exhibits are spread over 3 floors, but sadly contain few works we recognized. The galleries are dimly lit, suitable more for watercolors....More

Brussels is a cultural city and this royal tribute to one of belgium's greats, albeit foreshortened a bit by it's lack of some of his most iconic work, is a well put together hodgepodge of the many facets of Magritte's cultural production and is very...More
