The Lion's Mound at the site of the Battle of Waterloo gives a very good view over the battlefield, although by scraping away some feet of the ridge on which the Allied defence rests, the Duke of Wellington said "they have ruined my battlefield". A bit of a stiff climb to the top. In front of the mound are the... More

One of my favorite museums. Absolutely love the mannequin exhibits, which cover the troops of the French and Allied armies. 3D film is extremely well done.

Fascinating. Lots of original artefacts, good film and the view from the Lions mound was amazing despite the fog. Well worth the entrance fee. Not that easy to find though. Multitude of names didn't help and the sat nav seemed thoroughly confused. Found it by chance in the end.

Very interesting and diverse museum. Visitor centre is new and appealing to all ages. Lion's mound is hard to climb, but the view is stunning. The film in the Hougoumont farm is also worth going for. Take the shuttle bus to get there.

If you are visiting the battlefield, this is a must do part of the visit. The new museum / visitors centre is superb, it explains everything about the days before the battle, the battle itself and it's aftermath in an informative and entertaining format. Wait for the 4d film - do not walk past. Get one of the joint tickets... More

The new Museum and visitor centre at Waterloo is very well designed and tells the story of the battle of Waterloo in a simple and effective way. The 4-D presentation with 3-D re-enactment of the battle is very impressive. Use the audio guide but there is no need to listen every single clip. The written signs give you the subject... More

I won`t go into too many details about the visitor centre since much of this has been pointed out by other reviewers. Suffice is to say that I am pleased to have been here so soon after this new attraction has opened and it is very much worth what i consider to be a very reasonable entry fee of 17... More

We drove from Brussels to Waterloo to visit this excellent historical centre to be immersed in the era of Napoleon. The artefacts were outstanding and you were able to use headsets to follow this trail of history. We watched a 4D presentation about the battle of Waterloo and then climbed the stairs of the mound. Take your time climbing if... More

This is an amazing visit. The museum is brand new, was constructed in 2015 for the celebration of the 200 years of the battle of Waterloo. The museum in underground, and give you an historical view on the French history, from the revolution, to the accession to power of Napoleon, and his campaigns. It is really interesting and interactive. You'll... More
