Neat small museum where you can view the home and printing office (and some of the oldest presses in the world) of the Plantin-Moretus family. Do check out the collection of herbaceous plants in the central courtyard garden. The profusion of spices and herbs is...More

The only downside to this museum is there was no audio tour. Your are provided with a thorough and easy-to-use pamphlet that provides all the detail you could want, but you’ll be tired of reading by the end of the tour.

This was the most unique museum I've ever visited. First, it is an extremely well-maintained estate home of generations of a family of printers. The home itself is stunning, with many family portraits painted by a friend - Rubens. There are also many rare texts...More

This printer museum is a genuine gem, a must visit when in Antwerp. The museum reopened more than a year ago after years of renovation. A great story of disruptive technology in the 16 th century linking commercialism with upgrading humanity. Lots to discover inside....More

This is a super museum: oldest printing presses in the world. This is a technology that should be seen in the age of instant communication. Plus, you get a sense of the political turmoil in the area in the 16th Century.

Interesting, but varied Staff. First guy could not have been more helpful, but the misery in the printing demo room needs to do the PR course. It is all set up to involve people, but that didn't stop him from putting up the barriers to...More

This lovely house contains many historical artifacts concerning early printing practices including one of the Gutenberg Bibles and a Biblia Reglia. The house was the actual residence of Plantin and his family. He had many famous visitors including Peter Paul Rubens. There are some of...More

This is a lovely old house and it is filled with history-- not just about printing, but of Flemish culture and old Master paintings. We learned a lot about how the early years of the printing press were subject to religious and political pressures. There...More

Huge amounts of printing history here with great detail about the printing company and the geographical and theological printing it did. An awesome place for font-nerds!

This museum is well worth a visit when in Antwerp especially if you are a book lover. The museum is of a manageable size to complete in an hour or two and there is excellent multi-lingual explanations. Make sure to budget enough time to complete...More

Can be done in hour or even less, though easily enough material there to spend 3-4hrs, depending on your interest.
