Historical walkway renewed
Apr 2021 • Solo
The Lange Voorhout is an L-shaped treelined walkway in the Hague, dating back to the 15th century when the Klooster kerk (church) at the starting point was built. Now it is bordered by many historical buildings such as the Hotel des Indes and the Escher museum. Recently it has been refurbished to become an outdoor exposition of nicely lit statues and sculptures.

A beautiful avenue, provides shade in summer and great for strolling - worth seeing
May 2019
There are always events and markets on the avenue. Then it is the most worthwhile.
2018 was the world championship in sand sculpture in the Lange Voorhout. It is impressive to see how much sensitivity and perseverance is being worked on the sculptures.

However, the markets are also great for walking - and the Escher Museum is in the immediate vicinity

Here you are at the heart of Colonial history, with the yellow façade of HOTEL DES INDES, the Escher museum in Queen Emma's Royal Palace...

A stunning street full of Dutch culture
Jan 2020 • Family
A lovely little street often full of art, music, antiques and festivities. This gem is off the beaten track and is a hotspot that you have to visit. There are some lovely restaurants and cafes near by as well as the Escher museum and Palace at either end. It’s a must visit if you are in Den Haag. I visit every time I go!

One of the most beautiful lanes in the Hague
Oct 2019 • Family
The Lange Voorhout is one of the most beautiful lanes in the Hague, perhaps even the whole of the Netherlands. Every season gives a different perspective, various events being held hear year round. This time autumn saw leaves fall from trees. But still this lane is charming as ever.

The most Parisienne square in the Netherlands
Oct 2019
A very cosy, classic square close to Den Haag’s shopping center. The parliament is the neighbor - you find museums, embassies, grand old five star hotel, old Dutch cafes, book and antique markets on Thursdays, trees benches and public art monuments.

My office is at the square and I smile every morning I arrive.

If there is an event or market, check it out. If not, it's just a street.
Sep 2019
There a lovely parks all over The Hague and The Netherlands. There are also lots of lovely historic streets you can explore. This area isn't special in that way.

This street is worth visiting if there is an event you are interested in, like a book market or sculpture exhibition.

If there is no event going on, tourists shouldn't go out of their way to visit this street.

Tree lined street
Sep 2019
Bit difficult to see the street in all its' glory as there was an International Embassy festival going on, which meant it was covered with stalls from lots of different countries, as well as 2/3 stages for entertainment. Was fun though.

Stroll throug on a quiet morning
Aug 2019
Very peaceful, quite place to enjoy a relaxing walk in the shady tree lined (very old trees) park. That is when there isn't a market. Enjoyed walking past all the buildings and identifying the special ones- embassies, church that contributes to the history. People enjoyed yoga class early in the morning in the compact park.
