In the city center, near central Station you will find the municipality and The Hague Public Library which are both worth a visit. The Library offers novels, informative books, newspapers and magazines, as well as movies and e-books, in many languages. Its collections range from library materials in English, German and French to Arabic and Chinese. nice space with tourist information and free wi/fi. On Monday it opens at 12 am, the other days at 10

I loved this library because it has everything. From all the books you can find, to cafes, dedicated spaces for readers, or charging stations if you're using a laptop, facilities for wheelchair and the Tourist Information Office is there as well. It's right across from the city hall and it's worth visiting.

Great Architecture

Meier's building is quite impressive. It houses this grand library as well as the modern City Hall. Go inside the atrium and take in the whole display. Quite impressive.

An oddity

A friend convinced us that we should visit here and it was certainly worthwhile. The place will not detain you long, but the exhibition on miniature books was outstanding. There are exhibits of Greek and Egyptian artifacts as well. It is a quiet backwater of a place. We went on a wet Saturday morning and had the place to ourselves!

Architect: American Richard Meier

designed by American architect Richard Meier. Interestingly, he also designed Den Haag City Hall. He used the colour "white" as a trademark.

Part of a great complex : interesting for tourists
Apr 2017 • Couples
The Public Library is part of a big complex composed of the City Hall , the Municipal Archives , some business offices , the Tourist information Center and some restaurants . The whole building was designed by the American architect Richard Meier who is famous for the utilization of the white color and is becoming an icon of The Hague . As a part of our tour with a The Hague Greeter we visited the huge Atrium of the Building , the Public Library where Internet and public facilities are available and some pieces of art right in front of the buildings

Every week I visit the The Hague central library either to pick a new book, study or give classes. This is a welcoming spacious public library, with quite a big collection of books, magazines, newspapers and movies. Free wifi available.
Love the atmosphere, though many people do use its facilities, there is always a table and chair for you to settle down on for a bit.
Great place to meet people and exchange. Or enjoy reading and studying in silence.

I'm Italian and I like to read books in original language, so I'm really happy about the library because I can always find books in Italian, Spanish, English and French. I'm learning Dutch and there is a place in which you can find books that help you learning new words and meanings. It's a busy but quiet place, you can also find modern books and guides about cooking or travelling and so on. You have to pay €22,50 every year to be a member and borrow things (not only books but also dvd, music), but you will always find something that fit you!

great place to stop by when you visit The Hague
Feb 2017 • Solo
This library can be a busy place, but you literally have the world at your fingertips. In books (including a large English collection), in food/drinks (good place to have lunch), in the local tourist office (the socalled 'VVV') inside the library and in using the internet in the building. Great!
