Amazing
Sep 2019 • Friends
My son married a girl from Holland so I have seen some parts of the country. It is amazing the world comes here to negotiate world order. The easy access around town with buses and trolleys is remarkable. Wonderful museums and the locals love Americans. Sunshine, walking tours, bicycle tours kept me moving. I love this place

Worst tourist trap in The Hague.
Nov 2019 • Solo
I had to pay €9 to take an elevator to the 42th Floor. The waitress only spoke English and regarded me as an intruder. The Sky Bar on the 40th Floor was deserted and had been left uncleaned after a probable party. The promised included drink nowhere to be seen. A very unsatisfactory experience.

Dear Lucas, sorry to read that. The bar opens from 5pm. A voucher includes any drink of your choice in the restaurant on the 42nd floor. Please advise when you visited us so that I can verify with my staff what happened. Best regards, Elwin Giel elwin@thepenthouse.nl

Lovely views over the city
Sep 2019
Despite the weather being changeable, we did have a lovely view over the city. 'Free' drink was welcome in the Penthouse restaurant. Would have liked to have seen the Sky Bar but we went up before 5:30pm and it was closed. Would be nice to go up again at night, but at €9 a time, would only chose to go once.

Great views from the city balcony
Aug 2019
This is at the time of writing this review (August 2019) the highest building of The Hague. There is an entrance fee.
A fast elevator takes you to the 40th floor where there is a bar, which unfortulately lacks atmosphere, and is serviced by a bunch of giggling young girls who are mostly interested in selecting and loudly playing their own preferred type of music over the sound system. Serves mostly expensive cocktails and Gin&Tonics.
Climb 2 stairs to reach on level 42 the Skydeck restaurant - book this in advance. I did not eat there, so cannot judge it.
This level also allows you to go through a steel & glass door and you end up on the City Balcony, where you are outside on a secure balcony, walking on steel rosters and fully screened by steel wire mess to protect the visitors. Great views up to 45 km weather permitting.. Don't drop your phone !

Nice
Jun 2019 • Solo
This was a nice visit, although the view is not 360 degrees around the building. It's still a nice way to see the city.
I really did not like the poster of the not fully clothed woman on the way up. not sure if this is a commercial and for what, however I found it rather tasteless.
Beware that children are only allowed in during specific times, so if you go with children check in advance.

Tall building
Jun 2019 • Business
This is a tall building with great views. There is nothing else really to it so if you don’t want the view then don’t go.

There is a sky bar, a restaurant, a city balcony, 20 hotel apartments, a fitness floor, meeting rooms and much more!

Fantastisch view, that's all
May 2019 • Friends
Two yrs since my last visit so went yesterday to treat a friend. €12.50 entrance fee each for a free drink in the sky bar and the amazing view. The view was amazing. Timed so that we saw the setting sun and the lights of the city start to twinkle.
But then, the free Pinapple Daquiri which we chose was tiny. Other people seemed to have a better filled glass. All the view seats were taken by people on their mobiles. We wanted to enjoy the view. When asked if we would like another drink there didn’t seem to be drinks menu, oh wait, there was but it was given reluctantly. None of the waitresses spoke Dutch. Got the card and ordered 2 glasses of white wine. They took absolutely ages in coming. About 20min. The bottle came in a cooler and was opened at the table. At least we could see it was the correct wine at €6.50 p.gl.No problem until I thought that HE thought we had ordered a bottle. Just to check I mentioned it. There were only bottles available and a glass of wine in the restaurant. Well it clearly said a glass in the menu. The guy tried to convince us otherwise until we proved it and he left all huffed. My previous visits had none of this commercial, snobby crap. They were very enjoyable. The drinks were on the 42nd floor with lots of window space. Now on the 40th with about 5 low lounge seats at the window. The view hasn’t changed but the rest is very expensive, and pushy service.

Hi, thanks for your review! I checked with the bar manager and the waiter made a mistake because of an event next door that caused some confusion. Sorry for the inconvenience! Best regards, Elwin Giel
