Born and raised in The Hague. Still I had to go to New York to see the Dutch Dance Theater (NDT) from my hometown perform. What a show, beautiful and expressive performance. If you get the chance... go see them. True artistry and physical prowess.

One of my favorite places in The Hague
Jan 2015 • Friends
How could I not love this place? It offers 10 euro ticket for almost every show for people under the age of 27. With that price, I can enjoy variety of world-class dance performances. From ballet performed by russian company, contemporary dance by the famous NDT, contemporary dance from australia, to dance in the ice skating.

Cheap tickets for good shows, especially the one performed by Dutch National Ballet, are sold out pretty quickly. So check the website often to make sure that you won't miss the good deal.

The NDT building itself is modern and new. I had sit in so many different seats and the view were always pretty good everywhere. The location is perfect. It is in the heart of city center, so it is super easily accessable by any kind of public transportations (bus, metro, train). Within short walking distance, you can find unlimited options of restaurants. Another great thing is that the ticket is already included free drinks (tea, coffee, juice, wine) during the intermission.

Workshop and show were spot on
We first had a workshop given by a professional dancer, which was really fun. Afterwards we went to a show called 'Butterfly', and the dancers where really good. Everything was spot on and even though dance-shows are not really my things, it was a great experience.

Cultural core of The Hague

What I can add more? Modern, comfortable, enjoyable place for collection of cultural experiences. This is about the music and dance. I was there several times for different occassions and I have been never disappointed. Order your ticket online, take a chair and enjoy. I think you will not regret it.

Great Value with a drink included

I love this theatre. You can see a world standard performance here for 17.95 with a glass of wine/beer or two for free at intermission. Because the theatre is well structured you can see the entire stage in the back rows and still feel close enough to be part of the performance. Bangarra Dance troup were great!!

Great venue with good view even from side seats.
Jan 2013 • Couples
We booked tickets for one of the shows of the Flamenco Biennale which takes place across various venues in the Netherlands every two years (obviously!). Unfortunately we had to book late so the 'best' seats were all gone. Although we were only six rows from the front our seats were right at the side of the theatre so we expected a poor view but this is not the case in this theatre. Tickets were booked online direct with the theatre, with a reasnable booking fee of three euros fifty cents. Booked four days before the show, they turned up the day before as promised, but could have been collected from the box office. The theatre is right in the centre of town on Spuiplein so many trams and buses stop nearby. The nearest stop from our house was Centrum, from which the theatre is about a three minute walk. It is in the same building as another venue, the Dr Anton Philipzaal where a lot of classical concerts are held. The ticket price included coffee or (Dutch) tea before the show, and a drink in the interval. The venue was prepared with hundreds of drinks ready to go out, but unfortunately we were a bit close to the show time so didn't bother.

Worldfamous NDT

Saw the NDT again, I enjoy every new group of dancers the NDT produces. Dancing and choreography has kept its quality, despite Jiří Kylián's departure.

5 stars to the whole experience
Dec 2012 • Family
I bought tickets for a show on the internet and got them sent (by post) to Portugal, no questions asked. Tickets included a coffee/tea before the show and a drink during the break and everything seemed to work orderly and perfectly. They just didn't have any leaflets about the show in English, which was a pity (in such an international city as The Hague...). Our seats were the cheapest (row U, seats 43/44) and from there you still have a very good view of the whole stage (we were watching the dance company Momix). Very good experience overall!

great hall for shows. The stage offers good visibility from all seats as far as I could tell. Enjoyed the show a lot!

The Lightfoot/Leon Ballets are amazing!
Sep 2012 • Couples
The Lucent Danstheater is known bes tint he hague for it being the home of the NDT - Nederlands Dance Theatre... and the highlight leading man and leading lady Lightfoot and Leon have changed the way this tiny town looks at Ballet and put them at the epicentre of the world stage - along with New York, London, Paris and Moscow... (Yes I know... who would have thought it... come to The Hague to see some of the best ballet in the world right now... )

Dont miss it!
