Reminded me a little of parts of London from the same era and I was desperate to find some older parts of the city surviving the WW2 bombing and this had quite a lot of older features. Braving the cold and the rain the sun came out intermittently so walking was pleasant enough without an umbrella. April showers!

Very nice area away from the bustle of the center with canals, old ships and an old church where the Pilgrim fathers set off from. However churches here have limited opening times so cant comment on the inside.

Just to the west from the very well known center and usually most often visited by tourists, is located this old part of town, nowadays still looked as a port, with the yacht - marina, numerous canals and old buildings on them. That was the port of the Delft town in the past, the city situated nearby the Rotterdam. We've... More

On our one day in Rotterdam, our friends took us here to see the "old" before seeing the "new". This area is a beautiful glimpse of the city's history. We loved the ambiance with the canals, canal boats, and beautiful old buildings. Must visit here to get a glimpse of Old Rotterdam!

Visiting Delfshaven is a time-warp back to the 17th century, it's definitely worth a visit. The architecture, the historical ships, the fine restaurants, pubs, and art galleries.

I loved Delfshaven. It was my favorite part of Rotterdam. It's so picturesque. There are several wonderful restaurants on the canal. Also a brewery, some very cool old bars and The Pilgrim Father's Church! I highly recommend visiting.

This is part of the old part of Rotterdam, i.e. the part that was not hit by the notorious WW2 bombardment. This is where the Pilgrim fathers started out for their journey to America, before sailing to Plymouth, England. Nice antiques shops.
