This beautiful gate is almost tucked and hidden away by a growing array of chairs, tables, drinks, bottles, little walls, restaurants, bars. Here, serving alcohol seems more important than showing an old gate. It is a bit of a shame. And a disgrace.
The Morspoort is situated next to the hotel where we sleep. The Morspoort is the western access to the city centre. In front of the gate you see a huge black canon, that's the place to make a picture. A beauty!
From our hotel, the entrance into Leiden took us through this city gate and it was a nice place of history, the drawbridge, the old cannon, and the city symbol of the two crossed keys.
