it is very good place to visit with lots things to enjoy; it is kind of all in one packet: historic building such as city hall, the life of canaling in new rhine, market, and lots cafes to just seat and relax.

Koornbrug is in the very center of old Leiden. Was probably an important place for locals to trade at a few hundred years ago. Today the most beautiful bridge all lit up during winter months.

This bridge is an eye-catcher. In the middle of the bridge you can see a decorative plate in the height that tells you about the past of the bridge. You see 2 green leaves, a golden crown and the year 1825. There is a weekly...More

This covered bridge was the home of many markets over the years. Now it is a peaceful place to sit, watch people, and just enjoy the beauty of the canal. It is working bridge and full of flowers and people!

This covered bridge’s name comes from the word corn as the grain was traded here for centuries. The corn was actually stored and kept dry inside the roof. Did you know that Leiden is also known as the Key City? This is because of the...More

An old 17th century bridge with a 19th century roof to protect the merchandise (corn) and nowadays your head and body when it is raining. Splendid views over Nieuwe Rijn canals and city hall.

We enjoyed our walk around the centre of Leiden on a sunny day.The graceful pilars of this bridge make for a nice spot in the shade or a spot to hide from the rain for a moment.
