The Best Cheese Display Anywhere
Nov 2019
Our group of Americans and Italians all agreed that this was the best cheese shop ever. They had everything beautifully displayed and tasting samples! That's so important when buying cheese and not all shops do this. We bought a lot, took great photos, and were glad we made the effort (some doing) to find the shop (it was out intended destination, but we don't always follow plan).

Something stinks in Gouda and it’s not the cheese!
Sep 2019 • Solo
September 9th in store I purchased 10 kilos of cheese to be shipped to the US. When it got to Florida it was sent back to Europe. T’kaaswinkletje said he would re-ship cheese but 3 weeks later no new cheese. Old cheese is still floating around Germany. One email he told me to “relax!” Very rude merchant. Today, October 1st, he says he won’t re-ship. Waiting for credit card reimbursement.

A delight for stomach, eye and a soul

The most beautiful, cheerful and the best stocked cheese shop I have ever visited.
The staff is amazing and accommodating, they have great knowledge of all the cheeses sold in the store, and they are knowledgeable about packing for air travel.
The visit is a must, when you are in Gouda.

Tasting necessary!
Sep 2018 • Couples
We visited on a weekday morning and the shop was busy with locals as well as tourists. Cheese buying is a social activity that requires tasting, and talking, then tasting some more so be prepared to wait. We were behind an older gentleman who was clearly known, and this looked to be a regular shopping expedition, but still he tasted it all before buying a lot of varieties. If you are used to bland rubbery Gouda from British supermarkets then think again. We were delighted and surprised by the taste variation, as well as the consistency. We opted for a fairly simple mid range version with a creamy nutty flavour as well as an aged cheese (18 months I think). The latter was a revelation with a salty strong flavour and harder texture - akin to Parmesan. Had we been self catering in Gouda I think we'd have enjoyed trying a wider variety and returning daily, as it was I made a fantastic fondue when we got home and we'll definitely visit again next time we come to the area. Highly recommend if you love cheese!

When we visited the shop it was a lot of cheese types with tasters to try. Everything we tried was good, we just wanted to bought them all :)
The staff was very helpful, they answer all our questions and allowed us to taste as much as we wanted.

Gouda Galore
Sep 2018 • Couples
We were welcomed very warmly when we walked in and there were tasters for pretty much all of the cheeses! They have a huge selection of Gouda and other cheeses. My favourite is the black lemon. The flavour takes a moment to develop and when it does it is delicious. The woman serving is was knowledgeable about international customs when i asked if i can import some into Australia. Must see shop!!

An amazingly well stocked shop with friendly, helpful staff. There are loads of types of cheese, you can try any of them, and reasonably priced too.

Rude unhelpful shop assistant
Jun 2018 • Couples
We walked for ages to try this place based on the TA reviews. What a waste of time! We looked around at the great selection of cheese, but there were no tasters so couldn't try any to find one we liked. We asked the female assistant about the award winning cheese which apparently is only available in this shop, and she pointed it out to us. We asked if we could try a little bit before purchasing, only to be told in a very rude and abrupt manner no as she was clearing up as she was closing in half an hour. We left, never to return.

If you like cheese this is the place to get it. It would be easier to tell you what kinds they don't have, but I'm not sure even what kinds they don't have. You will enjoy tasting all the samples and try to make up your mind what you want.
They will seal it for the trip back to the US if you plan on bring it back with you.
They are very friendly and will help you and explain about the cheeses.

Say Cheese!
Sep 2017 • Couples
You can't visit Gouda without tasting and buying some gouda! This shop was amazing, stacked to the rafters with wheels of cheese. The staff were friendly and knowledgable and answered all our questions. The selection was extensive and there were samples of almost everything they sold so you could try before you buy. If the sample isn't there, just ask the staff and they will be happy to provide one for you. The cheese was vacuum packed and ready for travel. Prices were reasonable especially compared to many cheese shops in Amsterdam which are more of a tourist trap than true cheese shop.
