I didn't have any expectations when I visited this museum and it was also my first time in the Netherlands. The museum gave a good understanding on the history of the Netherlands. Very nice museum shop with history books in English!

The ancient building is great and beautifully renovated. The museum has appealing themes, but presentation is rather old fashioned. Movies and audio are too long and too slow. Therefore also rather expensive entree.

We spent an absorbing couple of hours here. Displays are excellent, in both Dutch and English. A good way to learn about the country's history in an historic setting.

The museum is a bit of a mishmash. It is located in an old convent where William the Silent was assassinated, so it has some architectural and religious interest. The main exhibit focuses on William's life and times and the royal line he founded. Other...More

Gives a good overview on the history of the Oranjes and the Dutch identity. Nicely set up museum which can definitely compete with some established mueums in bigger cities.

This museum is very detailed about the history of Holland, and then mostly politically, Here is where Willam of Orange was shot, the founder of Holland. It's very intresting if you are into this, and the room sequence can be bit confusing

This offers a well-presented history lesson in an interesting building. While I felt that they could have gone more in-depth about the context of the events they addressed, it is well done and interesting enough to return to. We have been here twice.
