Limited on rainy days
Feb 2020
Limited time will be spent on a rainy day, and much is oriented at kids.
Even outside you'll finish quickly, unless with some kid activities.
Nice area though and good place for a walk in the surrounding area.

Cafe has some very nice home made cakes and good coffee and friendly staff.
We spent about an hour inside, including the cafe.

Nice visit
May 2018 • Family
Visited not the museum but only the restaurant. Food was of high standard. Normally the salmon is not that good, really! Tera Maris is located in a “hidden” area; not so many tourists visit. Please try to walk through the area and visit the quit and clean beach. It’s venue is in the vicinity of the castle “Kasteel Westhove”. Price is somewhat on the high side.

Small but nice museum (for children)
Nov 2016 • Family
My kids liked it a lot, it's small which makes it perfect for them. And it is a good combi of inside/outdoors activities.
Focusses on the fauna of the area and also about Zeeland so we all learnt something new!
It is for free with the museumjaarkaart otherwise it costs 6,5 for adults and 4 for children which is on the high side, not sure if I would pay it
(tip: if you stay in the stayokay, then children can go in for free)

Have a walk through the garden
Sep 2016
Have a nice walk through the garden with a view at the castle. You have multiple router with a variety of 15min up to about 1 hour.
They don't charge any entrance fee for the garden, only a parking fee when you come by car.

Not impressed
May 2015
I was not impressed by the museum, with fishes in aquariums and a stuffed moonfish. The bit of history of Zeeland's towns that are lost to the sea is interesting, but the information may as well be looked up on the internet. The outdoors part goes around the neighbouring castle, so that gives some nice views. There is a small wooden fort on a hill, a motte, which is quite nice.

Great home made Apple pie!
May 2014
A nice place to visit with kids. The museum shows all kinds of animals that were found in the area and existed in the ice age. The tour continues outside were kids can try to catch small water animals with a net, climb into a big woorden tower, walk through the herb garden.... There is a nice cafetaria that serves good quality sandwiches and great home made Apple pie! You can easily walk from here to the seaside and Beach.... Worth to spend a few hours for sure.
