Note: if you're visiting museums in NL, get a Museumkarte, giving you access to 40 museums, great value. The Westfries has great interiors, and the collection is beautifully presented.

The Westfriesmuseum has a lot to offer. The building itself has a lot of character. The paintings and artefacts are from different eras and the temporary exposition was very good. We would visit it again.

Spent a full afternoon exploring the history of the city I was born. Because it was not that crowded I could walk my own pace and make the best of the day.
