Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

A great find for antique and repro prints, to purchase or just to browse!
Dec 2018
This is an amazing shop, next to the flower market, and full of incredible prints, both originals and reproductions. We bought several of both categories and the owner was very friendly and helpful. It is easy to find, located next to the flower market on Single, off of tram line 4 and 12. We were there in December 2018 and made a special trip back again when visiting in May 2019. It will be on our itinerary for every visit we make to Amsterdam!

An Unexpected Gem
Dec 2018 • Couples
We took a break from the flower market across the street and wandered into " Antique & Prints". I was instantly struck by the quality and uniqueness of the items very tidily displayed. I picked one up from its frame on the wall but couldn't quite set it back perfectly, which is how I met John Hoogkamp, the owner. He strolled up and politely straightened it up, and was very polite. He let me wander around, which was easy to do thanks to how well the prints were organized, and a truly fun experience since most of the images were familiar subjects, but in poses or angles I had never seen. He clearly has gone out of his way to make the trip to his shop worthwhile.

He also was deeply knowledgeable about the artists, lithographers, and subjects of the art and their history. His shop is a complete joy to experience and is clearly a labor of love. I was able to purchase a 150 year old hand tinted lithograph of the Cincinnati waterfront during the 1850s-60s, which I had never seen, and I've seen many. He wrapped it carefully, engaged me in considerate conversation, and made me happy to be there. I look forward to visiting again!

Fantastic expirience

I discovered this store opposite the Bloemenmarkt on my visit to Amsterdam last September, where I came across the most wonderful prints of Amsterdam.
Not having had the oportunity to buy one due to my short stay in the city. I called up the store on getting back to Lisbon to see if they could post me a print my wife had loved, to offer her o her birthday.
The response was absolutely amazing. John Hoogkamp, from the store photographed and mailed me about 10 prints from which to choose and posted the one I selected imiediately, fabulously packed. It arrived impecabbly in less than a week.
I can only praise the professionilsm of the store. I would surely recomend it to art lovers and to peple who would like an artistic souvenir of Amsterdam. I paid 15 euros for a print of a great quality.

I Visit Amsterdam Simply For This Shop!
Oct 2018 • Solo
I first stumbled upon this shop right opposite the Bloemenmarkt. Inside you can buy prints and old maps of high quality. I collect prints by Helmut Newton and I always find plenty here of the highest standard. Other shops in Amsterdam sell prints but the quality isnt as good as here.
The store owner is knowledgeable and helpful and isn't pushy at all. I visit Amsterdam regularly simply to visit this store.

Prints, old and not so old
Jul 2018
Good store but not really for connoisseurs. Nice prints, not all of them "original." Some good things. No bargains but good selections. Surprisingly, the most interesting and authentic prints sold in this store are from views of different parts of the USA! There are also some good antique maps. All in all, a good experience.

Just what we were looking for!!!!
Jun 2018 • Couples
After searching a number of art galleries we nearly gave up on finding an affordable print describing the architecture of Amsterdam.
We happened upon this location and found exactly what we were looking for...and then some.
The lady of the shop offered me a chair to rest in while my wife shopped.
I think she detected that I was thirsty and offered and delivered a nice cold glass of water.
The gifts we will give acquired here will be a nice reminder of one of our stops in Amsterdam.
Well done!

BEST place to stumble across in Amsterdam.
Oct 2017 • Friends
Was so pleased we stumbled upon this treasure in Amsterdam on our last day. Went in on a whim, with no intentions just simply to look around. Found so many beautiful pieces, I wish i could have bought them all. I did however find the perfect print to take home as a memorable print to remind me of my trip to Amsterdam.

The gentleman that was running the shop was an absolute babe, so helpful and a genuine soul. Not a pushy salesman which is a welcome change from people in London.

Would recommend anyone visiting Amsterdam to stop by here and pick something up to remind yourself of your trip with a beautiful one off piece of art.

Thank You!

Love this place

I never visit Amsterdam without going into this shop, and I never leave it without having bought one or more prints. It has a great selection of reproduction and original prints from various sources including a lot of nice period Dutch prints and nice Art Deco stuff. You could browse for hours. Definitely recommended if you like this sort of thing.

I will stop here every time I visit Amsterdam!
Sep 2017 • Friends
My family has purchased prints and had them framed from here for years! We live in the United States, but my parents happened upon this store several years ago when in Amsterdam and bought several framed prints. We all loved them and when visiting Amsterdam years later, my sister and I stumbled upon the same store and bought several more. We just did a family vacation in Amsterdam and this store was a must. The owner is so nice and so helpful. He even did a special order for me while I was there and dropped it off at my hotel so that I had it the next morning before I had to be at the airport. He was great and so is his store!
