The area
Neighbourhood: Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.

This is a beautiful area in Amsterdam. Lots of shops and places to eat. It was fun just to walk around and window shop.

How the other half lives

This is a very interesting street. It is very nice with beautiful shops with the latest fashion, and bars and cafes and restaurants and so on. It's all good, including the beautiful architecture. You can go wild and splurge, or on second thoughts, just go window shopping; it is much cheaper!

Interesting area
Nov 2018 • Couples
Wandered around the blocks beside this street. Some lovely old apartment blocks and a range of expensive clothing boutiques and also food shops and restaurants. A nice area to stay, not too far from the centre but very safe and quiet.

This is a beautiful and quite street in Amsterdam. The cafes are great and good coffee. The street is also close to Alfred hotel. Tram 16 & 2 serve this area. There is also a direct bus to the airport.

Beautiful street.

Cornelis Schuytstraat is a lovely street if you enjoy your retail therapy.
There are some great parts to this street and a varied amount of shops with some boutique shops and cafes and bakeries to be found along here.
The architecture along this street is very Dutch and very evocative.
We were staying in a hotel near this street and probably walked it most days on our holiday,we never shopped but the street makes for a pleasant walk.
Well worth checking out.

Well stocked shopping street
Jan 2018 • Solo
It's not a large shopping street, but has quite a few shops on offer, ranging from shoes to art to brand clothing and a grocery shop. Pretty lights in the holiday season. Some decent restaurants to be found here for lunch as well as dinner.

Quiet Shopping Street
Sep 2017 • Couples
This attractive street linked our hotel (Hilton Amsterdam) and the tram line near Vondelpark. We walked down it multiple times during our two-day stay in the city and found it to be a quiet pleasant experience. Many good restaurants and shops are located on the street.

We stayed at a hotel near this street. It got plenty of nice brasseries, barkery, markt... close to the museums (van gogh and rijksmuseum) you can do many things around there.

A Map on the Wall
Jun 2017 • Solo
As I walk along this street twice a week, I noticed that some shops are changed. And now almost all of them are fashion shops. The last couples month I found a map of the street on the wall, next to the Brasserie De Joffers
