This just happened - around 13:00 on Sep 25 2021 - a very rude and loud boat captain from this company yelled at us to move our dog out of the shared docking area along Keizersgracht near the Huis Marseille. We live right across the street and comb our dog daily on this public bench overlooking the canal, and were actually sitting there for about half hour when he just yelled from behind to take our dog elsewhere immediately as hair was getting on his boat and food. We tried to have a simple conversation that we were just finishing but he became increasingly rude, vulgar and belligerent - even as his passengers started to arrive including children. He is a disgrace to the company and creates a terrible image for the company and for Dutch hospitality overall. Who would want such a person as their captain? To be sure - avoid the captain with white/blond hair, red skin, bit overweight. Save yourself from abuse - this is NOT Dutch hospitality, and for sure the canal benches are FREE FOR ALL even with dogs to use!!!!!!

Dear TripAdvisor, Dear Anexelle Hop, Please remove this false comment. The writer is mistaken. my boat company "Rederij De Jordaan" has this season 1 boat "Welmoed" and 1 captain (me Reinhard Spronk, tall and slim, no red face, grey black hair); and on this very day 25th of Sept at 1300 hrs (1pm) I was with my historic saloonboat in Amsterdam North (complete different area) with 8 ladies, and no food. in other words, likely there has been an incident, however my boat company, my boat, I, was not involved at all. Not very kind to give me this unfair abuse on social media as it has nothing to do with me or my boat or my boat company at all. please do remove this False Accusation as per direct. thanks, regards, all the best, Reinhard Spronk, owner and the captain

The single most memorable part of our trip to Amsterdam and the most quaint, elegant and impressive way to see the City! This is a must-do activity if you are able. My fiancé and I spent an amazing afternoon touring the canals on the vintage yacht, enjoying a gourmet lunch and champagne while listening to the history and anecdotes shared by the charismatic captain. Not only did we have an amazing day, but we left armed with restaurant and activity recommendations from the captain - which only improved the rest of our trip. Enjoy!!!!!!!

Our family has taken three trips with Rederij De Jordaan over the last few years. The experience has been remarkable every single time: Captain Reinhard listens to his Customer's wishes but always makes sure he builds an unexpected, memorable visit into the tour. Our tip: ask Reinhard to tell you as much as he can about the city and its history. Then have that glass of champagne, nibble on Dutch cheese or chocolates, take in the view and listen to Amsterdam's most prolific teller of tall stories, most of which are actually true :)

A good friend recommended this boat tour to us. Captain Reinhard was an excellent host. The food was amazing. The tour was just as amazing. The skipper gave us an indepth tour and is very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend anyone travelling to Amsterdam to book on this boat tour. We loved it!
