Had a mid afternoon tea and cake. we sat outside and regrettably there was a bit of construction going on which took the edge off things. The food was good the service good and the prices in keeping with Amsterdam in general.

Most people go into here for exhibitions or special events - as did I - but do appreciate the architecture of this building as well. Especially the beautiful brickwork and arches in the entrance hall and above the main hall itself. Very chic.

The majority of the displays is not made to be tried out. Which is silly because that is exactly how you should and could reinforce understanding. The translations are abysmally bad , either unfinished or just google translated. Not at all what we had hoped...More

When we visited Berlage we went to see the art of Banksy. The exhibit is in the basement of the building. And although that complements the Banksy exhibit, it's not really the best part of the building.

Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its
saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to
view some of the city’s most picturesque canals,
historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples
of traditional local architecture – not to mention
Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist
temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some
