Disappointed with the hospitality of the guy!! Rude and dam right disrespectful. Me and one other entered the museum and we're greeted to a friendly welcome however when the rest of my group entered the assistance changes his tone and become hostile. He began to speak to us in a harsh tone asking get us to leave even though we... More

This place is tiny, the museum is a one floor space and you'll enter through a pipe-shop. Two lovely gentlemen run this place at least as I got to know it. I ask to see the museum and one of them went up to switch on the lights for me. Once I was up on the second floor he said... More

While strolling at the famous Amsterdam canals we came across the Amsterdam Pipe Museum. It is located in a bEautiful and cosy canal house. We had the iAmsterdam card in which the museum is included. The collection consists of a lot of pipes from all over the world. You would probably not stay very long without the explanation of the... More

We visited the museum as it was free with our I am Amsterdam card. We arrived just after 12 when it opens and was informed the lady who works upstairs in the museum hadn't arrived on time. We left for lunch and returned. We got a personal tour of the pipes and the lady was very informative and friendly. Sadly... More

What a pitty you didn't like the guided tour, but you could have asked for no tour. It is no obligation, just a service because otherwise you don't have a clue what kind of pipes you are looking at. Since the pipes are arranges as the original collector had them in his home, there is no text with the showcases.... More

I visited the museum however I don't smoke any pipes. I did arrive a bit late in the afternoon, and two others right after me. The man working there was kind enough to give us a personal tour around the museum, telling so much interesting stories about these pipes. I could just recommend this place for a visit!

Got a personal tour of the museum and saw a collection of amazing pipes in a beautiful town house. After bought a beautiful dutch made pipe from the gift shop. Both the tour guide and proprietor of the shop were very friendly and knowledgeable. Even if you have a passing interest in pipes its a place to see.

We arrived at the museum 20 minutes before they closed but they let us stay longer without stressing about it. It is in a classic Amsterdam house and run by two pipe enthusiasts! You go in by a shop and in the second floor there are hundreds of pipes. There is no text but there is a great guide that... More

Thank you Marcela, since all our volunteers at the museum are so enthousiastic about the collection, we are always - if possible - prepared to let you enjoy the tobacco pipe museum, hoping to share this pleasure. More

I loved this quirky little museum. No notes to read. No computer visuals to watch. No audio to stand and listen to. In this museum a friendly man shares his knowledge and brings to life an otherwise unknown tradition. The cases of pipes stand in the rooms of a canal house that has been beautifully restored. One room has a... More

The history of tobacco telled by an incredibly passionate and prepared guide, through an astonishing collection of pipes. A must see for everyone.
