Got a personal tour of the museum and saw a collection of amazing pipes in a beautiful town house. After bought a beautiful dutch made pipe from the gift shop. Both the tour guide and proprietor of the shop were very friendly and knowledgeable. Even if you have a passing interest in pipes its a place to see.

We arrived at the museum 20 minutes before they closed but they let us stay longer without stressing about it. It is in a classic Amsterdam house and run by two pipe enthusiasts! You go in by a shop and in the second floor there are hundreds of pipes. There is no text but there is a great guide that... More

Thank you Marcela, since all our volunteers at the museum are so enthousiastic about the collection, we are always - if possible - prepared to let you enjoy the tobacco pipe museum, hoping to share this pleasure. More

I loved this quirky little museum. No notes to read. No computer visuals to watch. No audio to stand and listen to. In this museum a friendly man shares his knowledge and brings to life an otherwise unknown tradition. The cases of pipes stand in the rooms of a canal house that has been beautifully restored. One room has a... More

The history of tobacco telled by an incredibly passionate and prepared guide, through an astonishing collection of pipes. A must see for everyone.

It is a small museum and you enter through the pipe shop at the bottom. The collection of pipes is truly amazing. From pre-Columbian pipes to Dutch clay pipes and everything in between. The guide is very knowledgeable and friedly. The whole visit, including a browsing in the store afterwards, took less than an hour. Highly recommended!

So, just passing by the Pipe Museum - small unassuming shop front turned out to be a treasure - both literally (with pre-Columbian pipes!) but also in regards to Ben's enthusiasm. I don't smoke but I was "smokin" by the time I left the tiny museum - what art! what history! GO if you have the chance - you will... More

This is the place to visit if you don't want to stand in line for 2 hours to get a glimpse of a Van Goh or Rubens!!! the Pipe Museum happened to be close to our hotel and we thought why not?! we ended up getting a private guided tour by a very knowledgeable expert who showed us some amazing... Included in the IAmsterdam card this was an unplanned stop - our guide was clearly knowledgeable and enthusiastic and gave us a guided tour of the collection of pipes hidden in the little museum. He was happy to explain in more detail anything that grabbed our attention and was personable and engaging. Only took about half an hour which was... More

Intimate, quiet museum setting, which comes with an affable and knowledgeable guide. Spectacular collection. Would also recommend to a layman. Even more so.

I didn't expect much but I loved our visit to this little museum. It was free with our museumkart but it would be worth paying for if you are interested in pipes. You get a personal guide who tells you about the history and material. Very charming people and a lovely shop downstairs. I bought a turquoise beauty as a... More
