Great to see architecture in Amsterdam. In the Jordaan and city centre are a few "hofjes", gardens surrounded by small houses. It's great to walk around in these hofjes. One of the best because it's quiet. Another one is near Spui.

Amsterdam has many hofjes (square) that you usually don't see them from outside. Karthuizerhof is one of them. According to the history, this hofje was built in 1650 for the widows (with children) and also old maids. They supposed to behave neatly. It's now comon...More
