A group of did this canal cruise last week and it was fairly disappointing. Upon arrival we were greeted with the prospect of being split into single seats throughout the boat. We did not pay all that money to be spread around amongst strangers! When...More

This was a great way to see Amsterdam because it gives you a good understanding of the city and it's history. Our guide was funny, informative and pleasant and the ride was at a good pace. A must do while visiting Amsterdam.

The canal tours are a great way of seeing a lot of what the city has to offer. The tours are given in a few languages in turn so you don't have to find a language specific tour. The tour lasts about an hour and...More

The evening canal cruise was a wonderful way to see the city and the canals all lit up. A totally different perspective during the evening vs. an afternoon cruise (which we did as well). The staff was very nice and the wine and cheese selection...More

The buses and boat rides are really not the way to go in Amsterdam. The time you spend waiting and the speed of the transport really takes away from what you can see especially if you are on a budget of time or money. The...More

I went with an outfit called Canal Company (canal.nl). That particular trip was not a hop-off and hop-on type. It began and ended at the same spot.
I'm confused- some reviewers said the canal boats were large, some were open, some closed on top- and this reviewer said the boat was small. Soooo- how does one get the preferred size boat ?
