Its a much overhyped place. If you walk around a littlw bit then there are tens of restaurants who serve better food with great seatings. I ordered a burger and for the first time in my "burger ordering" history, I was shocked to see them...More

Nieuwmarkt is a pretty major station though as most of it is underground, you don't see much from the square itself. The latter is dominated by the old weighing station. Usually on one side there are a few stalls including a popular herring one.

So Amsterdam, so nice to be in this neighbourhood. There is everything, good Chinese food around the corner. This square has lots of good restaurants too, like Cafe Bern. And it's a great place to meet up and walk around. Never a dull moment.

Restaurants of all descriptions - Thai, Chinese, Argentine steakhouses, Burger joints and local cuisine. Waffle and ice cream parlours. Numerous pubs and bars. Good outdoor vibe without any hassle.

The open market was considered as part of China Town with many restaurants, shops and cafes around. Open markets opened daily and particularly during weekends. A nice place to stroll around to experience what the Asians did during normal hours.

Nieumarkt is the square bordering the eastern side of De Wallen. It's surrounded by restaurants and the De Waag is located there. Despite its name it's one of the older parts of the city. It's beautiful and picturesque. On New Years eve it's a war...More

To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the

historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples
of traditional local architecture – not to mention
Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist
temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some
