Nieuwmarkt is a pretty major station though as most of it is underground, you don't see much from the square itself. The latter is dominated by the old weighing station. Usually on one side there are a few stalls including a popular herring one.
So Amsterdam, so nice to be in this neighbourhood. There is everything, good Chinese food around the corner. This square has lots of good restaurants too, like Cafe Bern. And it's a great place to meet up and walk around. Never a dull moment.

The open market was considered as part of China Town with many restaurants, shops and cafes around. Open markets opened daily and particularly during weekends. A nice place to stroll around to experience what the Asians did during normal hours.
