This is a very nice canal and area. It is definitely worth taking the time to explore around this canal. The area is very pretty and in winter there is the light displays set up around and in the canals that are worth seeing.

Very beautiful canal and the place around. The view is simply amazing and soothing. Just stand on this canal and watch the bikers and listen to their bells, don't stand on the bike lane as they don't tend to stop and will hit you. The nearby buildings are historic and very beautiful. Usually the place is very crowded in the... More

HerenGracht hosts the winter light walk in Amsterdam each year with installations all along, above and in the canal made via various light objects, along the way there is an aray of shops for all budgets and desires including food, drink and smoke.

If you enjoying walking, especially by water, this is the place for you. It can be tough because the side walks are narrow and the bicyclists dominate the roads. It's disappointing that the sidewalk is along the buildings with cars parked by the water, and not vice versa, but still a very lovely walk with many picturesque spots.

Much like Kaizergracht, one of the other canals nearby, it is also great for people watching on a beautiful sunny day! A great... More
