This is a must stop for jazz music lovers. I attended on Tuesday night at 8pm for the improv workshop for musicians and vocalists. At 10pm, a jazz set and open mic pulls in a big crowd. Cafe/bar with drinks and snacks. Right off the tram line. Free admission. Great music! Engaged crowd.

Bought tickets after listening to the band on-line. What they played was nothing like what they represented they were going to play. One of the worst shows i've ever seen, in fact, the only one i've ever walked out of. Definitely a bait and switch - buyer beware when going here

Was here for the Kaja Draksler Octet on the evening of May 20th 2016. Best concert venue I've ever seen. Seating for about 200. All facing west. Around sunset the curtains were pulled apart revealing all-glass wall overlooking railway lines, to central Amsterdam. Magical effect. And the music was great too ;-)

The views from here are spectacular - the night we went was "museum night" and there were lanterns from helium balloons or kites (we couldn't see what exactly in the dark) floating above the spectacular science museum. The jazz (or "clazz") concert we saw was wonderful. After being on the tourist trail in Amsterdam, hearing an awful lot of English,... More

Recently after completing a Rhine River cruise, we spent a few nights in Amsterdam. We attended a fabulous jazz concert with the Kenny Werner Trio at the Bimhuis right next door to our hotel, the Moevenpick. Bimhuis is an international music venue with interesting contemporary architecture right on the water. Wonderful, thoroughly enjoyable experience! Excellent acoustics in an intimate setting... More

We have visited the Bimhuis several times and enjoyed Lee Konitz, James Carter, Hakon Kornstad and other jazz concerts. With just 250 seats it is cosy and offers an excellent soundstage. Prior to concerts we usually book a dinner in the Bimhuis' restaurant. The menu changes every month and we've never been disappointed. Not only is the food excellent and... More

The Bimhuis Jazz Club is one of a kind! Very comfortable, great views and most of all fantastic music. And not a 50 minutes show as in NY, but 90/120 minutes to get in the groove! ..................as nothing is perfect the restaurant is becoming the weak point of the evening. The requested dishes were not available ( this happens quite... More

The atmosphere and the performances are wonderful, of course. In addition, they have some kinds of great beer! If u have to take trains to go back home, I recommend u might make sure what time the last train is. When u r there, u totally forget time!

Not the type of place you'd necessarily go to for the fantastic food (although it's definitely not bad either), but it makes up for it by having one of the best waterfront locations, and beer tastes the same everywhere...

Go here and take a beer on the riverside, let the world go by and relax in one of Amsterdam's finest spots. Parking is available underneath and there is good food available as part of the venue.
